Aliansi.co, New York– Kasmayuni, who is currently still in New York City, United States, through her legal counsel Adv. Karina Mastha, S.H., M.H., has issued a statement in response to the Bogor Police’s decision to place her on the Wanted List (DPO)
Karina believes that the issuance of the DPO status was inappropriate and appeared to be rushed, considering that her client remains reachable and has never attempted to evade the legal process.
“My client has never intended to flee or avoid the legal issues she is currently facing. Her phone number is still active and she remains in regular contact with us. In fact, she has already informed investigators that she is in New York for work purposes,” said Karina in a press statement in Jakarta on Monday (April 14, 2025).
It is known that the DPO status was issued following a statement from the Bogor District Attorney’s Office that the case file against Kasmayuni had been declared complete (P21) as of September 23, 2023.
However, no court verdict has yet been issued to determine her guilt or innocence.
The police have been unable to present Kasmayuni as a suspect, as requested by the Bogor District Attorney’s Office, due to her current location overseas.
Karina stressed that her client remains fully cooperative and has shown a strong willingness to resolve the matter. “Yuni is committed to fulfilling her obligations and has even proposed a gradual settlement, including installment payments and offering land certificate as collateral,” she stated.
She further explained that, according to Kasmayuni, the reporting party demanded a cash payment of IDR 300 million. “Given her current situation, my client is unable to provide that amount in cash, as the funds she previously managed were distributed under the instructions of a party named Rea, who was also involved in handling the funds,” Karina added.
Karina clarified that Yuni’s decision to go to the United States was purely motivated by the need to work and raise funds to settle her financial obligations. She also noted that Kasmayuni’s husband is unable to provide financial support and that there are internal matters that cannot yet be disclosed to the public.
“Therefore, the assumption that my client has fled or is attempting to avoid the legal process is completely unfounded. The delays in her return to Indonesia are due solely to technical and logistical issues,” Karina emphasized.
As her legal representative, Karina affirmed that she would continue to support and accompany Kasmayuni throughout the legal process until the matter is resolved. According to Karina, Yuni believes she is being scapegoated in the fraud allegations made against her.
